ArcheoPark è una PMI innovativa e un?Impresa sociale nata nel 2017 grazie al finanziamento POR CAMPANIA FESR 2014-2020 AZIONE 3.3.2. DD 107 del 07/04/2020 pubblicato sul BURC n. 86 del 20 aprile 2020. Its mission is to create a virtual museum to support the fruition of the receptive and cultural services in the Phlegraean Fields.
The core project lies in the combination of technology, digital communication and cultural contents with the aim of creating informal educational actions for children empowerment. In order to achieve our mission, among all the other activities, Archeopark proposes the digital videogame, “Phlegraios - The adventures of Zeura at the Plegraean Fields”. Through several fictional and mythological characters, children playing the videogame are accompanied to the discovery of the story and the archaeological remains of the Phlegrean territory. The ArcheoPark activity and projects were introduced during an Open Day on the 15th of February 2020, but they were stopped a few days later because of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. As school activities gradually resumed and Cultural Institutions reopened, ArcheoPark renewed its invitation to discover how technology, through simplified languages and engaging modalities, can be put at the service of the cultural heritage, promoting and communicating complex topics to children and teenagers. The Covid-19 emergency has also brought to light the need to rethink traditional formative methods, by merging the “in-presence activities” with the “at distance activities”. At the light of that, in 2022, Archeopark expanded its offerings with the creation of Archeodesk, an interactive platform that gives users the possibility to discover, at home or at school, the Phlegraean territory and its archaeological treasures.
